Best times to Go
The weather on the Atlantic coast of Norway where the
road runs is very variable. In the winter the weather
is quite extreme and the best times to visit are in the
summer.
Even in the summer time high winds are typical and
anybody driving the road and intending to stop along it
should be properly prepared with appropriate clothing.
From May through to September the temperature will remain
above freezing and June to September will be snow-free,
however September becomes windy with the most sustained
winds during this month.
Generally July is the best weather with highs of 15C but
still with rain on most days.
