Getting There

By Air

Fly into Trondheim Airport, Værnes, Norway (code TDR) as the closest international airport to start and then drive; it is 200km from Trondheim to the northern start of the road at Kristiansund, in the Nordmøre district of Møre og Romsdal county.

Alternatively you can take a local flight to the airport at Kristiansund which is called Kvernberget (code KSU), this is a small airport which is mainly served by Scandinavian Airlines and Widerøe, a regional airline.  It is possible to get daily connections from Oslo.

By Road

From Oslo it is 500km to Molde, a route which would take 7 hours to drive continuously.

By Sea

There are many ferry routes in the area and you can for example go from Trondheim to Kristiansund by ferry.  There are also cruise ships which go up and down the coast and stop at the ports which can be a good introduction to the area.
